Doctor of sciences, professor, head of the radio spectroscopy committee of RAS (1971–1991), head of the laboratory of nuclear magnetic resonance of INEOS RAS (1978–1991).
Prof. Fedin was a leading expert in the field of the nuclear magnetic resonance. Following suggestion of Prof. Kitaygorodsky he organized the group of nuclear magnetic resonance of INEOS RAS together with Dr. Petrovskii in 1961. He was first to investigate the structure and dynamics of organometallic compounds using multinuclear Furier-spectroscopy. He had also guided the production of the first Russian NMR-spectrometers (1964–1994) and coordinated the production of NMR-spectrometers for Comecon (1971-1994).
