Historical background

The laboratory was set up in 1962. In 1962–1991 it was led by Prof. S.V.Vinogradova.

Main research themes:

Elaboration of new types of polycondensation processes. Preparation of polyesters and copolyesters of different configurations and microsructures with hydrophilic, hydrophobic and amphiphilic properties  included both linears and branches, comb- and star-like structures. Development of different types of linear super high molecular polyorganophosphazenes for medicine, membrane and other applications. Synthesis of new types of fluorescence polyheteroarylenes: polymer fluorophores, bifluorophores and threefluorophores with high thermo- and light stability. New polymer systems for effective lithium batteries, as catalyst of polyphenylenoxide production, and as dispersed thermostable dyes.

Current research themes:

Development of techniques of synthesis of novel photochromic molecules and dyes, production of photosensitive supramolecular systems based on them and investigation of receptor, fluorescent and photovoltaic properties of these systems.
Theme leader — Olga Fedorova
In collaboration with Laboratory for X-Ray Diffraction Studies and Laboratory for Nuclear Magnetic Resonance.

Development of techniques of binding of organic substances on to the semiconducting metal oxides for creation of new hybrid materials, possessing selective sensor properties for gases in the air and metal cations in water solutions.
Theme leader — Olga Fedorova

Synthesis of novel biocompatible (hyper)branched amphiphilic polymers based on polyglycerols, hydroxyacids and siloxanes. Investigation of their surface properties and application of them as emulsifiers and emulsion stabilizers in course of emulsion polymerization as well as preparation of microcapsules.

Brief historical background

The laboratory was established in 1954. Until 1978, the laboratory was headed by Academician Kuzma A. Andrianov (1904-1978). In 1973, a laboratory of organoelement elastomers was organized on the basis of the laboratory under the supervision of Doctor of Chemical Sciences Alexander A. Zhdanov. After the death of Andrianov in 1978, both laboratories were merged under the leadership of Alexander. A. Zhdanov. In 1989, upon reaching the age limit, Zhdanov was relieved of his duties as head of the laboratory, and Boris G. Zavin was elected to this position. In 2012, Boris G. Zawin left this post for health reasons. Since 2012, the laboratory has been headed by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Aziz M. Muzafarov. Currently, the laboratory is headed by Anton A. Anisimov, who assumed this position in 2022.
