Candidate of sciences, holder of “Red banner of labor” and “Badge of Honour” orders.

Dr. Korshun was one of the founders of organic microanalysis in Russia. In 1937 she has organized the laboratory of microanalysis in the Institute of organic chemistry and then in 1954 another laboratory in the Institute of Organoelement compounds. She has developed the special equipment for elemental analysis of organometallic compounds. In particular, she created a method for simultaneous analysis of many elements in one sample by its oxidation in oxygen stream with further separation of element oxides in various analytical forms (Pregle-Koshun method). This express gravimetric method is one of the most universal one, allowing to determine more than 50 elements in organic and organometallic compounds, polymers and materials.
